Welcome Back,
Well, it appears our website in the woods has nearly reached cruising altitude. Thank you all for your patience during take-off. I am hopeful that this will be an enjoyable, educational, and interactive flight. Because of people like you, this trip is possible. It will be because of people like you that this project continues to grow and flourish.
Each day, more visitors are logging on and checking out Northern Community Internet. The Blogroll continues to expand, with more local bloggers linking in to NCI each day. Our friends and neighbors are beginning to feel more comfortable about adding news stories to our News Page. The classified ads section swells more with each passing day, providing options for those of us looking for that certain something.
For a few more weeks, our umbrella topic for feature articles will remain “The Economy.” As we began posting stories on Northern Community Internet, the plan was to run economic stories for eight weeks. To the chagrin of most of us, the economy remains to affect our days. The financial strife of so many Americans has proven to be hard-hitting, omnipresent, and snowballing. For this reason, NCI will continue to run feature stories relating to economic issues in our region.
The current state of the affairs has altered our individual existences, making a direct impact on our lifestyles. Many of us know, directly or indirectly, people who have lost their jobs, homes, or money intended for retirement. Most of us have become increasingly conscientious of our spending habits and frugal living. How has the economy affected your personal world?
Active community involvement will be the fuel this website requires. Input by readers like you is essential to our success in providing readers with multi-faceted, local news. Because of dynamic reader participation, Northern Community Internet can live up to its name.
I encourage you to comment on articles, using the comment button at the bottom of each piece. Be honest, share your stories, and bring more understanding to words at hand.
