First Friday Art Walk in Bemidji for April 2009

The Bemidji Community Arts Center invites you to their April First Friday Art Walk and Opening reception on April 3rd from 5 to 7pm featuring the 9th Annual Bemidji Area High School Invitational.

Participating locations and showcased artists are:

* Bemidji Community Art Center - Opening reception on April 3rd from 5 to 7pm featuring the 9th Annual Bemidji Area High School Invitational. This exhibit features work by Bemidji Area High School Students in all mediums. Exhibit runs April 3rd through the 25th.

* Neilson Place - Neilson Place presents “Embrace,” featuring original paintings by Natalia Himmirska and host an opening reception on Friday, April 3rd from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Neilson Place Lobby.

* Wild Hare Bistro and Coffee House will be featuring its very own Mackenzie Lindahl and Moni Schneider, presenting: “Edible Mandala: an exploration of culinary inspiration” April 3rd through 29th from 3:00 to 5:00pm.

* Dunn Bros Coffee continues to exhibit work by photographer Brandon Bjerknes for the month of April with his show entitled “Simply Beautiful”.

* Beltrami County History Center - The Beltrami County Historical Society, in conjunction with Gallery North, presents “Spring Fling” now through May 2009. Free Admission into the Museum every First Friday from 10 to 4pm.

* Bad Cat Creations Gallery & Gifts announces their Opening Reception Friday April 3rd 4 to 7pm. featuring artist Cody Bartz showcasing his screen printed posters & pottery.

* Cabin Coffeehouse and Café - reception on April 3rd from 4 to 6pm featuring a new exhibit, “Horses, Haystacks and Haunts” by local artist and photographer John Eggers. Also on display and for sale - paintings by Audry Merschman. The Cabin Coffeehouse is located at 214 Third Street NW.

* Bemidji Public Library Art Wall and the First Friday Art Walk for April features work by watercolor artist, Geri Mead from 3 to 5pm.

* Mask & Rose Women’s Theater Collective and the Northwood’s Folk Collective located on the corner of Fifth Street and Beltrami avenue announces their First Friday Coffeehouse starting at 7:30 PM. NEW EXHIBIT for April in the Fleur de Lis Gallery! “Mother Art” – A celebration of woman in the arts featuring a collection of artwork made by woman of all ages from Bemidji and the surrounding area.

* Gallery North Open House Friday April 3rd from 2-5pm. April Showcase will be the Annual Artists of Minnesota Traveling Mini Show. Featured Artists for April are two of the founding members of Gallery North: Joyce Martin, a Watercolorist, and Mary Morton who is a Rosemaler. Gallery North is located at 502 Third Street NW.
